“An investigating officer has recommended that a Marine Corps general drop all charges against a Marine accused of murdering civilians in Haditha, Iraq, finding again that the 2005 shootings were “tragedies” but that the Marine did not violate the laws of combat.
Lt. Col. Paul J. Ware wrote in a 29-page report that there is insufficient evidence to show that Lance Cpl. Stephen B. Tatum did anything other than follow Marine Corps rules when he killed women and children in two houses in a residential neighborhood in Iraq on Nov. 19, 2005. Ware found that Tatum followed orders to attack the houses and shot a group of civilians only because another Marine in the unit was already shooting at them.”
We have yet to hear from Murtha on any of the dropped charges, or even of the other three dropped cases, as being the jackass he is he’s all mouth and no character.

1It is my hope that when it comes time for the Cowardly Lyin’ to campaign again that these Marines take him to task in his own district. The Haditha Marines need to hold press conferences, attend rallies and get the voters behind them. They need to ask the question “If John Murtha won’t back his fellow Marines, do you think he will fight for you?”
They say there is no such thing as an ex-Marine. We now have two; Lee Harvy Oswald and John Murtha.

2Why is the DOJ protecting Murtha? He stepped way over the line.
About a year ago, Sgt. Wuterich’s attorneys, Neal Puckett and Mark Zaid, filed a defamation suit against Murtha. The first step in the discovery process was a request for a Murtha deposition.
The request was referred to the Justice Department who told the court no. Murtha was performing his duty as a congressman, according to the DOJ.
The lawyers filed an appeal of this decision and that’s where things lay.
