You have to wonder about liberals. For instance if Karl Rove is such a “Turd Blossom”, then why bother with his leaving? I mean “good riddance” right?
Instead you would think he was the greatest thing that ever came out of Washington. After all the talk about being the “architect”, the fact is that he didn’t make people pull handles for George Bush, and speaking as one who worked for the 2004 reelection campaign of the President I can say that he had next to no influence or interaction down here in South Florida. We worked hard and brough in the votes for President Bush because - get this - people wanted to vote for him.
This isn’t to underscore Rove’s political skill or his savy in political circles, but you would think - well I know that liberals do - that George Bush couldn’t get out of bed without Karl Rove to help him.
Robert Novak writes in this morning’s Washington Post:
“Rove is unique, a rare political mechanic with a comprehensive knowledge of American political history. As an obscure young campaign consultant in Austin 20 years ago, he embraced George W. Bush — who had failed in both politics and business — and gave him a plan to guide him into the White House.”
Novak shows the same disrespect (his actual distain for Bush is not a secret) to the President as does the left in the continuation of the “Stupid Bush Syndrome”.
You know, “Bush’s Brain”? Nevertheless, I disagree that his departure necessarily spells the “end” of the Bush administration. Not that any president with so little time left in office is “lame duck”, but the there is still much that the President can do even with Rove gone.
Let’s move on.

1When I was pounding the pavement and burning up the phone wires to get out the vote for President Bush in the last campaign, I never heard anyone say “but what about Karl Rove?” I am sure that the left would deny that, but those who were on the fence didn’t care if Rove was a staffer any more than they cared if Rummy was a staffer. They weren’t voting for Rove.
As to Novac, I just can’t read him anymore. He is p.o.ed because he has been booted to the side (which seems to happen to him on a regular basis no matter who occupies the Oval Office) and now he’s going to add to it to show that he still has a “Rather complex”, overstating his own importance.
Carl Rove is a good guy. He has a wonderful sense of humor (not something well known) and did his job well. I think he was smart enough to know that Bush was playing with fire on the No Illegal Left Behind bill but he obviously didn’t have the power over Bush’s brain that he was given credit for.
It must be wonderful to be a liberal journalist; you can call Rove “Bush’s Brain” when the President outsmarts the left and then, when the guy leaves, you can say what a dimwit Rove really was.
If I become a liberal, can I have it both ways?

2Retire05 hints at an excellent point: now that Rove is gone, what will be the Left’s excuse for not being able to finish Bush off? (I guess in the Left’s mind Cheney will now become Bush’s brain… or his balls… or some area of Bush’s anatomy.)

3Sad to see Karl Rove leaving…but the rats are going nuts over it. They’re saying he’ll be much for dangerous for their party with him out of the WH. All I can do is laugh and shake my head…Rove is going home and relax for a while. It’s fun to watch the rats running around acting like what they are pathetic idiots…
Yes, Bush may be considered a ‘lame duck’ President. But he ain’t through yet.
Iranian Unit to Be Labeled ‘Terrorist’ - U.S. Moving Against Revolutionary Guard
Bush has given these terrorist lots of time to straighten up and fly right. He’d never leave office with a nuclear Iran…and most of all he sick and tired of them killing our troops.
