Finally Republicans get “Chutzpah!”. Last night during a vote on a pork laden agriculture bill, republicans revoted when Democrats tried to pull a fast one. Via K. Lopez who received a email from an Republican aide who witnessed the event:
“An outrage was committed on the House [last night].
While voting on a motion to recommit for the agricultural appropriations legislation, the presiding chair (who is a Democrat member) gaveled the vote closed. The tally was clear and the vote was over. The Republicans had won. Then, realizing what had happened - the Dems allowed just their people to keep voting to change the result. Let’s be clear, this wasn’t holding the vote open - they change the results of a vote that was legally declared over.”
Republicans won the vote on excluding illegal immigrants from aide, but Democrats not happy with that continued to vote after it was closed and gaveled. Run the tape!
Republican Minority Whip Eric Cantor recounts the events in his blog.
Disgusting, and congrats to Republicans who are not going to take this crap anymore.
UPDATE: Capt Ed notes that rules in the House mean something.

1The vote was gaveled closed. It was over. The final tally was 215-212 Republicans. When the Dems realized they had lost, they started changing their votes which they could not legally do.
The Republicans demanded the original tally to be shown on the electronic voting screen. The presiding chair (McNulty?) then said the screen was not working.
Parlimentary opinion was requested by the Republicans and it was denied so they walked.
So much for Pelosi’s most honest congress in our history.

Pushback. Dem. Fifth Columinist terror-helpers getting caught flat footed trying to push a bill the DNI has said is inadequate.
Thank you Republican House members/ leaders. Especially, Thank you Heather Wilson R. (NM).
Got a lot on the ball. Knows how to push back. Hillery, better start looking over your shoulder.
Hope Wilson runs for Senate.

3C-SPAN’s been re-running last night’s vote dispute and this morning’s statements by Republican leaders. Could it be that Republican leaders have finally learned they must get out there every day and be strong and visible if they want the media to cover them like they cover the Dems.?
Of course, can’t expect the liberal networks to show what’s happening truthfully. But Republicans are getting a good run on C-SPAN. And they look and sound excellent. ‘Bout time they stood up. Hope they keep it up.
They should give Marsha Blackburn (Tenn.) a microphone more often.
The Repubs. have been so bashed by the media that when they do stand up and fight, they have a deer in the headlights look. Maybe someone should give them crisis communication training so they can compete in media street-fighting with the likes of Schumer, Clinton, Emmanuel, Durbin, et.al. Today, it doesn’t matter how right you are if you can’t communicate it and defend it.
