According to their news services, Korea is threatening retaliation if another one it’s hostages are harmed. Today the body of Shim Sung-Min, 29 was recovered. The US along with the UN has sucked eggs on this international outrage. I’ve been watching the Korean news via satellite and it’s a parade of promises from Government officials talking of serious repercussions if the hostages are not released.

These are medical missionaries, not soldiers or spies. Korea, of which I lived for two years is a warrior culture who believes strongly in revenge and honor. Ask any Vietnam Vet of the viciousness of the White Horse Division and you’ll get an idea of what I’m taking about. I quite believe them when they are beginning to talk about taking out revenge on the thugs who are threatening to kill women.

While Korea has only about 200 troops in Afghanistan, they do have a ready reaction force of several thousand troops that could deploy in rapid fashion. Of course this might complicate the situation, but again, at this point Koreans on the street are demanding justice and revenge.

“Blue House spokesman Cheon Ho Seon warned there would be consequences if there are further killings, but it was not clear what weapons Seoul has in its arsenal. The government will not tolerate any further harming of innocent Koreans and we hold the perpetrators responsible, said Cheon.

In what seemed like an admission of the dilemma Seoul is facing, Cheon said, The kidnappers are demanding the release of prisoners in Afghan jails in exchange for Korean nationals. But this demand is not within the power of the Korean government because it doesn’t have any effective means to influence decisions of the Afghan government.

Meanwhile, Kabul has ruled out any prisoner exchange. There will be no swap of prisoners for hostages, said government spokesman Humayun Hamidzada yesterday in Kabul. Hamidzada said other means were being explored to save the kidnapped Koreans, but he offered no details. “

Per ABC news, a rescue operation is underway, but with the hostages divided up into many locations the prospects for collateral damage increase. Either way, this act of cowardice on the part of the Taliban will only end on the bad side for them.

Michelle Malkin is keeping this story alive where the MSM refused to focus on the tragedy.

Keep the prayers coming for a successful operation and return of the hostages.
