I’ll give the Party of the Donkey one thing during their first seven months as the majority party, they’ve lived up to they symbol. That being “ASS”.
The biggest example is in the US Attorney flap where they tried – unsuccessfully – to turn politics into a criminal activity. In the most recent installment the President told the “Gonzales Witch Committee” to go pound salt on compelling testimony of Harriet Miers. It’s about time.
The President is on good solid legal ground on this, inspite of partisan protestations to the contrary. The fact is that NOTHING illegal or even unethical has been uncovered in the nearly six months of wasteful mudslinging by Leahy and (Mr. Conflict of Interest) Schumer, and it’s time bring this farse to a close.
No doubt the “Asses” will not relent, reason enough for their 14% approval rating (meanwhile Bush’s is rising), and continue to bury themselves by their own BDS.

1Mac- Good show today.
Just a couple of comments:
1. Thanks in advance for the focus on Iraq/Iran you announced. I’m looking forward to your coverage, and you’re right we shouldn’t let the ADD media distract us with Hillary’s neckline. Keep us focused on the real deal. We’re doing remarkable work over there. Lots of small sites are telling the story. I’m glad you’re maybe going to pull a lot of them together. We need to get the story out.

While we were all distracted by Hillary’s anatomy, something classically dramatic happened in the Senate. We’ve all lamented that we don’t have leaders who will stand up to the Democratic street thugs in the Senate. Well, if you watched the all night circus last week, you must have seen what Hugh Hewitt wrote about in the above post. And the next day, McConnell did it again, pulling the rug out from under Sens. Reid and Kennedy. To mix my metaphors, all these years McConnell has concealed a keen ability to wield a big knife. He took it out this week and cut the Democrats off at the knees. I watched him introduce the Republican counter-mendment to the ridiculous Salazar “Don’t pardon Liby” amendment. It was a beautiful piece of poetic justice to hear the Clerk of the Senate read the litany of Bill Clinton’s income-generating pardons. Reid, in disbelief, as though he had been hit by a locomotive, instantly withdrew Salazar’s amendment.
We all owe Senator McConnell a standing ovation, and great encouragement to keep up the good work. More, Mitch, More.
We have found our leaders. Several others stood tall that night too, in what seemed to be a choreographed system of rebuttals to the Democrats’ assault on the war. I hope everyone shows their appriciation.
On Hugh Hewitt’s website, don’t miss the photo of Harry Reid as Baghdad Bob. It’s worth borrowing or linking to it.
You know, it wasn’t such a bad week after all. As one who has been close to despair, I’m starting to think things may be looking up.
Thanks again for your time and hard work.

2“ASS” is probably to most apt and accurate description of the Dim I saw on “Meet the Depressed” this morning, Feinstein. If he’s not an ASS I don’t know any other word that describes him. Complete idiot would come close I guess.
The Dims are so driven by BDS they can’t even think of solving any problems. You think 14% is low, just wait.

3It is time to repeal that turn of the century (20th century) experiment of the “Progressive Era” known as the 17th Amendment that changed Senators from being appointed by the state legislatures to being directly elected by the people. This was a failed experiment, a mistake, and it has turned the Senate from “The World’s Greatest Deliberative Body” into a political circus.
With congressional approval numbers this low, the time is right to repeal the 17th. It is time for some candidates to campaign on that issue and for us to vote them into office so they can get it done.
The Senate hearing process has devolved into nothing more than partisan kangaroo courts that the majority uses to posture and humiliate the minority. The appointment process is now broken. And Congress pushes unfunded mandate after mandate down onto the states.
It’s time to go BACK to the system the way the founders designed it and served us well for well over 100 years.
