And lobbing insults at them is not going to make this any better or convince them to change their minds. In fact, it just makes it worse. The addition of Senators Gregg and Alexander to Domenici who came out early this week brings the number of moderates defecting up to nearly ten. Not veto proof but getting their way too fast. If the hotheads cannot talk respectfully and maturely I suggest they sit down and shut up. They're just trying to get credit for pushing Bush/Gates to the position they're already headed towards. If reports from the field are correct the Petraeous counterinsurgency squeeze is rapidly calming things down as Iraqis stand up and reject AQ and militia extremism. It's too bad Domenici is revealing himself to be so lacking in political courage and statesmanship but sadly all too typical.
