Al Gore’s son busted for driving fast and being in possession of drugs. Ok, that’s the news. What however, is the actually funny part of the story is all those who are crying foul and saying “leave him alone“.
Nonsense.
First, the story is reportable and relevant. The fact that Mr. Global Green’s son got popped in a Prius before the elder’s “Global Concert of Environ-MENTAL Lies” is even more newsworthy, so spare me the hands off. It’s a matter of opinion, but I get a rash sometimes with some on the right and the “We’re holier and better than them so speaketh not”, meme we get whenever there is a story such as this.
That - as Mark Levin says “is crap”.
But to see much of this coming from the left is laughable in the extreme for we know that if it had been one of the Bush twins the Kos kids would have been all over it. Jules Crittenden nails a particarly snarly lefty blogger the subject.

2Instead of trotting around the world trying to save the earth, perhaps Gorbot should be staying closer to the homefront and saving his son. It doesn’t take a village to raise a son, it takes a father.

3Captains Quarters also suggest non exploitation of the story and he has a point, but also it should be noted that even though this incident has caught the attention of the press, a full review will show that this is not the first time for young Mr. Gore.
I would have to find it again but a blog I read pointed out this is the third time or more similar incident involving the young man.
It should not be used for political leverage, but it fits into the meme of the gossip papers interests and does show a certain amount of big target opportunity especially considering the timing to reap hypocrisy points if that is what someone wishes to illustrate.
