When Scott Rasmussen released a poll today showing Bush with Nixon as the least popular presidents in history, the lefty blogs and the MSM jumped on it - as if they ever quoted one of Scott’s polls before.
Yet I didn’t see a one of them mention this other tidbit the poll found:
“Close on Nixon‚Äôs heels for most unpopular is the current President, George W. Bush. Fifty-nine percent (59%) have an unfavorable opinion of him. Lyndon Johnson (42%), Bill Clinton (41%), and the first President Bush (41%) are the only other Presidents viewed unfavorably by at least 40% of Americans”.
USA Today using “editorial license” totally clips Clinton out.
“As for the other side of the measure — “The highest unfavorable rating for any president is earned by Richard Nixon. Sixty percent of Americans have an unfavorable opinion of the only president to resign from office. … Close on Nixon’s heels for most unpopular is the current president, George W. Bush. Fifty-nine percent have an unfavorable opinion of him.”
Of course mentioning this would bring up the fact that Clinton was never elected by more than 50 percent in either election, thus never popular with at least half the country at any one time. All of this is comical when you consider that his wife has him tagging along for “support” when polling shows half the country won’t vote for her.
