I don’t support McCain in the least and I was angry with the Gang of 14 compromise about filibusters. But think about if they had not made that deal. We would now have an immigration bill no one wants.

McCain drove the final stake into the heart of his campaign when he teamed with Teddy in pushing Amnesty for illegals.
He really is a good man, but terribly misguided in campaign finance and amnesty. His role in the Terrible gang of 14 was one of the first stakes driven, the last has now been plunged home. It’s only a matter of when the fat lady sings. (no, Teddy is not the FAT lady.)

I wonder who he is going to blame for this? He has spent the last 7 years getting even with Bush for beating him in 2000. His , and Lindsay Graham’s forging alliances with the likes of Ted Kennedy, et al, who are not the heroes of most Republicans, just to throw a monkey wrench into Bush’s plans is more than most of us can swallow. Remember in 2001 when he delayed approval of Bush’s appointees for weeks by tying up the Senate with his George Soros backed Campaign Finance Reform Bill, which gave Soros and his minions control of most of the campaign money, while the Dems. worked to get Sen. Jeffords to switch parties and give control of the Senate to the Dems? The Dems were so sure McCain was also going to switch parties that they made a trip to Arizona to talk about it. It appears they figured he would be more or a thorn in Bush’s side as a Rep. than as a Dem. I know he thinks we are all stupid but some of us can remember all his antics over the past 7 years. I say, Goodby and good riddance.

War hero. stalward on WOT and defense, fought pork, true Reaganite, voted for conservative judges, popular nationally but not enough for the “conservative” crowd because he tried to solve the solution to influence peddling in gov’t. McCain Feingold was/is flawed but “conservatives” would rather bitch and complain and do nothing than solve a problem. Enjoy your president Hillary and VP Richardson and being a minority party for the next 50 years. Way to go guys. Thanks for screwing my future.
