Mr. Bush, now the Pardon
The appeal for Scooter has failed.
WASHINGTON (AP) – A federal appeals court has refused to delay the imprisonment of former White House aide I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, who was sentenced in the CIA leak case.
Now it’s time for Bush to do the right thing.
UPDATE: Heh, this tantamount to the Devil giving a sermon.
Meanwhile Capt Ed:
“The politics of this moment seem rather delicious. The President just enraged his base by attempting to push a deeply unpopular immigration bill through the Senate. He could regain a lot of that ground with a commutation of Libby’s sentence, or an outright pardon. Will he take advantage of the opportunity?”
I say yes, he must.
Besides, in the debate the other night even Hillary agreed, “Nonviolent offenders shouldn‚Äôt be serving hard time in our prisons!‚Äù

And if he pardons or commutes, some of his supporters (see Ed Morrissey) will pitch a fit about that, too.
He can’t win, no matter what he does.
Never the politics of pardoning Libby, just do it. I’ve sent a letter to the President.
email, phone or write the WH.
Mac: it’s long over due!
I still love and support President Bush. I knew he’d take this first step, and if need be he’ll pardon Libby.
Opps forgot to add this:
A full pardon would mean that Libby admits guilt and drops his appeals
This keeps Libby out of jail while still trying to clear his name
