The press hasn’t. The most amazing side to this non-story is how the press tries to make a story out of new non-stories. Case example:
“A U.S. attorney in Seattle was singled out for dismissal in part because he clashed with senior Justice Department officials over the investigation of a federal prosecutor’s murder, and he was recommended for removal 18 months earlier than was previously known, according to newly disclosed documents and interviews.
D. Kyle Sampson, former chief of staff to Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales, told congressional investigators that he believes he may have recommended former U.S. attorney John McKay’s removal in March 2005 because of conflicts with senior Justice officials over the investigation of the 2001 murder of federal prosecutor Tom Wales, according to congressional aides and Sampson’s attorney.”
Look, it doesn’t matter when they decided to dump McKay, the fact is that the JD was not satisfied with his actions – or inactions on the Wales case. Obviously Eggen has never watched a Law and Order Episode. Prosecutors are fired every day in America for disagreements with their bosses, and especially when they don’t do their job.
Move on already.

1Mac,
I have left two posts over the last few weeks, telling you your HOME page has seriou tables issues, which offset your posts to the left, making them hard to read. LOOK AT YOUR HOME PAGE LIVE ON THE NET. It refelcts upon you big guy. Your site is a fantastic resource which I visit daily and I have the upmost respect for you but if you do not read the posts left by people like me or do quality check of your site live, why should I come by anymore.

2This shows up fine on Mozilla Firefox but not IE.
I agree with you, Mac, regarding the Gonzales story, it’s time to move on. This remains a non-scandal, non-story. I haven’t seen anything scandalous about this story and all they’re doing is doing more fishing expeditions with HOPES of finding something else more scandalous than this.

3jrooney, it only requires one click to view the post without the distraction. If you are so lazy that you cannot muster one more click of your mouse, take a B-12 shot and move on.
Otherwise, give it a rest.

4retire05,
I posted two previous notices to try and help Mac out, so his readership grows because he puts out some of the best content on the net and deserves the recogniton and much more exposure than he gets.
I cared to try and notify him to help him out.
How many times did you try and notify him so his redership would not decline? Were you trying to inform him he had a problem with the site, so visitiors would not move on?
His words are some of the best gospal around and should not be missed.
BTW, I am not lazy and have been coming to Mac’s site everyday for close to two years! In fact most days 2-3 times.
Since you can fire a nasty shot to a Mac regular that was trying to help him, I can see you are lacking in character my friend.
I was trying to help. If you were not, you should just remanin quiet.
Please direct me to any posts where you tried to inform him of the problem with his home page.
As a web designer myself with four websites that sell commercial products, I am aware tht if you can not interest someone from your home page, they normally will not explore past it.

5OK, jrooney, so you are this kind, compassionate person who was only trying to help Mac out (not that he needs it but I’m sure in your mind he does for without your help his readership will slip to one, me) who feels the needs to lather Mac up with honey and then tell us about your own personal qualifications.
You notified Mac of the problem, not once, but twice and it was up to Mac to fix it, if he could, but you seem to feel that since you are the internet police you must do it once again.
It also seems obvious that since you cannot handle any personal “constructive” criticism you felt the need to attack my character.
Those who are faithful readers of Mac’s blog will not be detered by having to exercise one more mouse click. Those who are probably have little of importance to say anyway.
So may I suggest that you not only see into that B-12 shot, but follow it up with a Valium, as well?
End of discussion.

6retire05,
You took the first unnecessary shot at me. You felt compelled to act the rear of a horse for no reason. They say when we all get older we will either become bitter, mean people or nice and friendlier. Not hard to tell how retirement is hitting you.
It is a shame too because I have seen your postings here before, at AJ’s I believe, maybe Captain’s and I have always agreed with them. We pretty much have the same mindset politically.
However, when you felt the need to call me lazy and asked me to take a B-12 shot, now valium, and called me the internet police, I felt the need to swing back. No one pushes me without me pushing back.
It really is too bad because like I said, I have always found your posting void of attacking those except for the real moronic lefties.
You did make a vaild point that maybe Mac could no fix the problem, but I doubt that because his html and web design skills seem pretty good.
We on the right should try and help each other anyway we can, especially if there is an issue with a web site we go to. Why would we not? If I see a stranger with a probelm with their vehicle while they are driving or stopped to get gas, like their license plate is hanging down, one of their wheels is wobbling and may fall off, I alert them to it. It is human decency. I hope you would do the same.

7jrooney, this is the last I will comment on this:
you took the first shot at me, when you questioned my “character”. That I have a problem with. You do not know me, yet you slam my mental abilities because you assume I am “retired” and so question my problem with you harping due to my age, which btw, you do not know.
I referred to you as the “internet police” AFTER you questioned my character. What do you expect? Flowers and a nice dinner?
I’m glad that you are a “decent” human being that desires to help others. But I find questionable your need to blow your own horn that you seem to be making a habit. I find most people are “decent” human beings and are the rule, not the exception.
It is Mac’s site and he can choose to fix it, or not, and your threats to no longer read his posts ring hollow with me. Either put up with the requirement for one more mouse click or be gone.
I care not about your personal achievements nor your threats to Mac. If I were him, I would probably ban you for your arrogance. But it is not my site.

8retire05,
Calling me lazy and telling me to take a B-12 shot and can’t muster one more click of the mouse, is not taking a jab of me? Okay. I guess in your world it is okay to insult someone and expect them not to respond.
No retire05, I was not blowing my own horn. It it came across that way, I was not intending to and apologize to Mac and yourself (for taking offense).
I too am done with you and will never respond to any of your posts.
If Mac, wants to ban me for stating why should I return to the site if he never reads the posts or wants to fix his home page, that is his option. This is his site and all of us, myself and yourself included, are afforded the luxury to visit here. We are guests on his site. I realize that. I am sure if you do. Banning someone should be for far greater reasons.

9I lied but you make it sooooo easy.
Once again, it is all about you, jrooney. You apologize for me [and possibly Mac] taking offense, not at your offending us. Or is it that you cannot express yourself properly?
Like you agree with, it is Mac’s site and he can ban you if he doesn’t like your moniker.
