   Mark: nice post; it’s about time someone did this.

   I have argued this point for years, including when I was still an Intel Officer in the Corps, and was invovled in the Gulf War.

   Several things for you to add to your “database”

   a) the words “Allahu Akbhar” appeared on the Iraqi flag (a supposedly secular nation!); during the Gulf War as well!

   b) Saddam had a poster published during the Gulf War, with the “99 names of Saddam”

   A very crude attempt to deify him, and appeal to “Muslims”; but probably hearsy to “real” Muslims!

   c)Saddam never new his father; he was raised by his maternal Grandfather “Khairallah Tulfah”, a dedicated Sunni Jihadist, from the 1940’s!

   His grandfather was not only an early Jihadist, he was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, and he was a best friend and deputy to this notorious Muslim Brotherhoon memeber, Nazi lover, Jihadi: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohammad_Amin_al-Husayni

   And besides Saddam’s Uncle, who was al-Husayni’s number one “fan”??

   His cousin, and fellow Muslim Brotherhood member: YASSER ARAFAT!

   Remember those videos, of Arafat flying to Baghdad during the run-up to the Gulf War, and kissing Saddam on the shoulders??? Make a bit more sense now?
