Via Newsmax:
“Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid should be recalled by voters over his “un-American‚Äù remarks about the Iraq war, Sen. James Inhofe declared.
Speaking with NewsMax pundit Steve Malzberg on “Bill Bennett‚Äôs Morning in America‚Äù radio program Wednesday morning, Inhofe, an Oklahoma Republican, expressed outrage over Reid‚Äôs criticism of the Bush administration‚Äôs Iraq policy, his call for a timetable for withdrawal and his assertion that the Iraq war is “lost.‚Äù
Asked if the Nevada Democrat should resign from his leadership position because of his comments, Inhofe said: “I think it‚Äôs more serious than that. I think there should be a recall . . . for saying something as un-American as that.‚Äù
He also said: “But it would have to emanate from the people who elected him.
“I can‚Äôt imagine that something isn‚Äôt going to happen.‚Äù
Well that depends. Coming from a state whose motto is “All for our country”, and where party politics are evenly devided there is – according to some – a growing discontent for Reid in his home state.
Add to this the MSM picture of Reid as an incompetent boob, its a matter of time before the blood in the water attracts more media attention to Reid. Fact is that he is becoming an embarrasment and Democratic leaders with their sights on 2008 and beyond can ill afford Harry Reid to spoil their party. It doesn’t help that continued gafts like this seem to be helping to keep Bush approval numbers steady.
Reid’s only attraction is on the uber antiwar left. His approval numbers in Nevada have never been that impressive, so if a recall were inititated it might – with backing from shadow democrats – take flight.

1Great that you posted this Mac. As a spine counter, Inhofe has been around the top of my list all the way. He stands when others duck, appease, or wimp (my only voice on Abu Ghraib).
Duncan Hunter said the same thing on camera. Hooorayyy! Anyone else out there? Why didn’t the entire Pug group go out on camera and ask for Pelosi’s when she traitored on us? It takes a political earthquake to get it past the Dem’s MSM Army but Pugs are missing opportunities galore. The fight must come from their playpen.

2Right, Owl.
Talk about turning off your base. It’s discouraging to see our leaders so indolent. They don’t even have to think up things to say. Democrats provide a bonanza of inappropriate behavior every day. Take yesterday, for instance. Pelosi, Murtha, irresponsibly AWOL at Gen. Petraeus’ briefing, then undermining the war effort by voting for the surrender bill. Then Reid calling Petraeus a liar. And not a word from any Republican to point it out.
Nothing will change until the folks back home take some action. One inexpensive way is a recall petition. Maybe there’s no chance of forcing a special election, but the mere fact that a petition movement is started (and I would bet spreads like wildfire) in the districts of Pelosi, Murtha, even Kucinich, and in Reid’s Nevada, Durbin’s Ill., and Rockefeller’s WVA, would have incredible tarnishing PR value that even the MSM cold not ignore. Truthful opinion polls for a change.
Give real Americans a chance to weigh in on the sedition-like behavior of their elected officials, and you’ll see some startling results.

3Nevada law requires that 25% of he actual voters in Reid’s last election sign a petition for recall. That would be VERY hard to do.
