This is a bill that is worthy of a veto:
“WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush is threatening to veto a Senate intelligence bill that’s laced with provisions that would force the White House and spy agencies to be more responsive to Congress.
In a policy statement released Thursday, Bush’s advisers said the bill fails to provide enough money, “with sufficient flexibility,” to adequately pay for spying operations.
The Senate has struggled for two years to pass a spending blueprint for the roughly $45 billion-a-year spying budget. Senate Intelligence Chairman Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., made the legislation a top priority when he took over in January.
“These provisions are all intended to improve our ability to make decisions, leading to better intelligence for the military and policy makers,” Rockefeller said on the Senate floor.
Bush issued the only veto of his presidency last year, killing a bill on the use of federal money for embryonic stem cell research. But since the Democrats assumed congressional control, Bush has been warning more often that he will nix legislation.”
So Rocky and his cohorts, who have consistantly and with abandon leaked classified information to our enemies abroad and here at home within the liberal MSM, wants even more information to leak.
Here is a list of what Syria Rocky wants:
_Yearly disclosure of the total amount spent on intelligence. The administration has long argued that releasing the figures would be a threat to national security.
_When lawmakers with jurisdiction ask for intelligence assessments and other information, the bill requires spy chiefs to turn the materials over within 15 days. The measure “would foster political gamesmanship and elevate routine disagreements to the level of constitutional crises,” the administration says.
_A mandate that the White House brief all members of the intelligence committees on extraordinarily sensitive matters—not just congressional and intelligence committee leaders, as is often the practice now.
_Required reports on interrogation activities and secret prisons, which the administration says would raise “grave constitutional issues” and jeopardize sensitive information that should not be widely distributed.
_Creation of a statutory inspector general for Office of the Director of National Intelligence who would have the power to direct watchdogs in any of the 16 spy agencies. The administration says the existing watchdogs are best suited to do the job without “dysfunctional interference” from the proposed new inspector general.
_A requirement that the heads of the National Security Agency, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and National Reconnaissance Office be subject to Senate confirmation, as well as the CIA’s deputy director. The administration calls that unnecessary.
The arrogance of Democrats never ceases to amaze me. Remember that facism is a socialist (liberal) idea. They want to control all the info so they can leak it out to whomever they feel necessary as to undermine our national interests.
This crap is what vetos were made for.

1Mac, thanks for keeping tabs on the leaker from WVA. What ever happened to the investigation into his pre-war trip to tip off our enemies? Remember the big summer you said was coming in 2007?
Of course, now we have Maj. Leader Hoyer consorting with the Muslim Bros. in Egypt. Did he issue the shocking invitation to address Congress? If all of the Dems suck up to terrorists, how can anyone complain about Rocky? He was just on the cutting edge of the new Democratic Party trend, one actually started by the Clintons in patronizing Mr. and Mrs. Yasser Arafat.
But speaking of misuse of our intelligence, here’s something else I don’t understand. How do the Dems. get away with calling for private emails from the White House? Remember the discovery of Rocky’s master plan to use military intelligence as a political weapon against the President, (along with other incriminating documents found in a commonly shared Congressional computer file)? The Dems made such a stink about privacy that the poor staffer who stumbled onto them lost his job and the memos were suppressed. Why is there such a short memory on Dems. undermining the country and such a loud uproar over fabricated Repubican issues, such as the ridiculous demand from intelligence leaker Lehey for White House emails?
The antidote to all of this epidemic of obstruction and seditious leaking and undermining is clear: Recall Petitions. Unfortunately, Republicans just sit and twiddle their thumbs, thinking the public will make it all good in ‘08. Not without a long, bitter fight, which Republicans seem sadly incapable of conducting. Let’s face it, we need a Republican Chuck Schumer. The field is littered with unspent ammunition dropped by the arrogant Democrats. But Republican leaders seem clueless on how to pick it up and fire it back. Very sad.

2Take a hard look at the Democratic Senate seats that they got in Virginia and Montana. By how many votes did they get those seats? Virginia was won by 0.4 points or about 9 thousand votes out of 2.3 million cast. The Democrats won Montana by 0.9 points, or about 3.5 thousand out of 406 thousand cast.
The Democrats have no mandate. They took the Senate by the skin of their teeth. They couldn’t even throw Lieberman under the bus. They tried but he wouldn’t stay there. Where is this mandate they keep talking about?
For once I agree with Krauthammer.
