William Murchison at Town Hall:
“What I mean is, can’t the Democrats see? Don’t they have eyes? A single set would help, under the circumstances.
What others are watching with mounting anxiety is the moral and intellectual implosion of a political party. Nor do I mean the Republican Party, for all its undoubted problems and shortcomings. I mean, rather, the party of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and Pat Leahy and John Murtha and so on and so forth, who for two months — and we’re only getting started, folks — have kept their country in carefully engineered turmoil.
It isn’t necessary to love or, likelier, just put up with the Bush administration in order to feel the flesh crawl whenever an eminent Democrat prescribes for us. A “Democratic official” such as the Associated Press quoted this week, gloating in the uproar over the firings of a handful of federal prosecutors, as saying, “We know from last year that Democrats can win in Republican districts where corruption is an issue.” Wherefore, bring on the corruption! And if we can’t find any — e.g., when it’s shown that the Bush administration had every legal right to dump those Justice Department prosecutors — let’s hold hearings and issue subpoenas for Karl Rove.
A few days earlier, it was the Senate Democrats who were maneuvering, and failing, to use congressional power to lever American troops out of Iraq. Next week it will be something else. And the week after. And the week after that.”
And that’s just what we have seen. While we have a real enemy scheming to do us in, Democrats have declared what we already know about what they believe, “Bush is the enemy”. Yet they will in the end destroying themselves because that is what this kind of hate ends up doing, and already their hypocrisy and dishonor is glaring.
Get involved, call your Republican leadership and tell them that you are holding them responsible for fighting back and exposing the fraud that is the Democratic pary.

1They might end up doing that Mac but in the meantime they sure get help from Republicans along the way to further their causes:

I can’t wait to see the roll call to see who stood on the right side of this issue. It will stick out like a sore thumb seeing there were only 2.

2I heard it was 4, smh. It is a shameful day when the Congress makes a blatent and (IMHO) illegal power grab from executive branch. This cannot be tolerated and Bush should not hesitate to VETO the crap out of it!!! I don’t care if he has enough votes to sustain the veto…a clear message needs to be sent to Congress. You are intruding into executive branch constitutional perogatives and are setting a VERY dangerous precedent! I wouldn’t hesitate to take it to the Supreme Court if necessary and I think they should!
This is just what I’m sending to the Republican National Committee. They ask me for campaign contributions all the time. Bad news guys…I ain’t giving you one more dime until I see some new faces and or attitudes in Congress. Never mind the votes…you ain’t got them anymore!

See how different these initial reports are? Last I heard it was Hagel (surprise) and Bond who voted against.
I totally agree about funding these cowards..they thought nothing of supporting the President when his numbers in the polls were 50-70% favorable but at the first sign of trouble they turn tail and run.
I sure hope the President is now steadfast in his support of the AJ. This whole thing is tiresome.
Just read President is allowing Rove and Miers to be interviewed (not under oath) by Congress. Why not just exert Executive Privilege?
