Patterico has the goods on the LA Times which in it’s write up of terminated US Attorney Carol Lam forgot some ‘minor details’:

“The L.A. Times has the unmitigated gall to write an entire story about the timing of an e-mail regarding Carol Lam, without telling its readers that Lam was a list of targeted prosecutors well before the Randy ‚ÄúDuke‚Äù Cunningham scandal ever broke. Worse, the paper misstates the facts to its readers to support its position.

On March 2, 2005, Kyle Sampson sent Harriet Miers a list (dated February 24) of prosecutors. The names of those targeted were struck out. Lam’s name was stricken out, meaning she had been targeted.

As I told you earlier this morning, the Cunningham investigation broke months later in June 2005, with the publication of this story Even the lefty TPM Muckraker admits that Lam was targeted before that date. TPM Muckraker also admits that Carol Lam was not investigating Cunningham until the scandal was broken by a newspaper in June 2005, after Lam had been targeted.”

.

So far from being a victim, she was simply not doing the job on immigration and subsequently let go for it. The conclusion one can’t miss is that if the administration was really trying to pull one over on the people they would have gotten rid of her BEFORE the Cunningham investigation, which she was allowed to prosecute in spite of the fact that the administration knew she would be replaced.

In a previous post Pattrico peruses the emails available and finds - as I did - that there is absolutely no evidence any where of a vast right wing conspiracy.

Of course ABC news is aghast with emails from Karl Rove that they say proves he was “in on the deal”, and so this means that the White House lied when they said the whole idea was Harriet Miers’. But that fact was concluded by the MSM, not asserted by the WH.

Still I fail to see the crime or even the impropriety IN A PRESIDENTIAL ADVISER GIVING ADVISE but then I’m trying to read the mind of the terminally insane.

UPDATE: On the so-called “Rove emails”, it turns out he was mentioned in the emails, NOT writing them himself (h/t Powerline)

UPDATE II: Not claiming anything at this point, but ABC’s Rovian email sample must have been retyped.

The emails are look like they are from Outlook, yet the WH doesn’t use MS email services (for obvious reasons), checking into it though.
