I don’t care if McCain announced from Mount Olympus….
In conjunction with Senator (this way and that) McCain’s announcement on of all things David Letterman that he’s running for President in 2008, let me - MacRanger announce our official (logo coming),
“NO McCain in ‘08″ campaign”.
More to come, but the gloves are off.
As a member of the South Florida GOP I will work stealthly and diligently to oppose his nomination for President of the United States from this day forward.
Capt Ed has more of the reasons why conservatives need to squash McCain and never forget the past.
UPDATE: McCain rejects CPAC invite. If you are a candidate courting the conservative vote and trailing in polls, you don’t ditch the CPAC. McCain is dead in the water.
UPDATE I: Want more evidence of McCain’s lack of leadership skill? Check out this from K. Lopez at The Corner reference his appearance on DL.
“Last evening, I referred to American casualties in Iraq as wasted. I should have used the word, sacrificed, as I have in the past. No one appreciates and honors more than I do the selfless patriotism of American servicemen and women in the Iraq War. We owe them a debt we can never fully repay. And America‚Äôs leaders owe them, as well as the American people, our best judgment and honest appraisal of the progress of the war, in which they continue to sacrifice.
“As I have said many times, I believe we have made many mistakes in the prosecution of the war. With a new Commanding General and a new strategy, we are now trying to correct those mistakes, and I believe we have a realistic chance to succeed.
“That does not change the fact, however, that we have made many mistakes in the past, and we have paid a grievous price for those mistakes in the lives of the men and women who have died to protect our interests in Iraq and defend the rest of us from the even greater threat we would face if we are defeated there.”
Just another example that McCain doesn’t even think about what he is saying anymore, so used to giving out BS quips he can’t even keep his own rap together. He’s complete and utter anathema.
Say goodnight and goodbye John.

4It is the same McCain behavior that turned me in 2000. He lost to Bush then promptly preceded to force HIS agenda FIRST.
He has bytched and moaned over someone not letting him be the CiC from the ‘get Rummy’ to supporting all the MSM’s Abu Ghraib through torture.
No surprise. At this point I wish at least 1/2 the Senators would resign. Maybe they could be talked into it if they thought it could be turned into a protest against Bush? Yeah, that’s the ticket.

5Coming to you from the panhandle 1 mile from AFSO, Hurlburt AFB, Home of the Air Commando’s, McCain is toast in this area. He may be strong on the war but he is weak on the enemy combatants. And as you will see this coming week, he is in bed with the Orca Whale Kennedy, and the WH on the “this is not amnesty” law to be presented. To appease those “close the boarders” conservatives they will leave in the 700 miles of new fence, but you can bet it won’t be funded. Any help you need let me know, I so tired of this Presidential runup this early I am tuning it out. God Speed
