When NBC’s Andrea Mitchell said that “It was widely known among those of us who cover the intelligence community and were actively engaged in trying to track down who among the foreign service community was the envoy to Niger”, she wasn’t just a whistling dixie.

Seems everyone did know. Which again proves that leaking her name was found NOT to be a crime as surely Fitzgerald knew this and still couldn’t charge anyone because (for the left grab your seat), she wasn’t a covert op. Case closed.

But now this does makes a lot of things interesting. It’s just like I told you last year that when push comes to shove you’ll have journalists telling on each other which is beginning to happen now.

Even more interesting is Mitchell herself. Perhaps when she takes the stand she can explain how “everyone know” before Novak’s column surfaced? Perhaps David Corn and Nicholas Kristof can provide further insights to that question? After all who knew everything before everyone knew?

UPDATE: AJ Strata notes in the Woodward tape that Wilson was calling around to everyone, thus Wilson outed his own wife. This is what I covered here with the David Corn who IS the archetech of the Wilson/Plame game. Again, this has been known from the start which is why I’ve consistantly asked, “Why in the hell was a Special Prosecutor appointed for this farce in the first place?

Also read my “Is there ANYBODY who didn’t know about Plame“? from 2005.

From that article:

“The investigation into the outing of a CIA operative was over in October of 2004 and I believe Fitz determined at that time there was NO leak. The indictment of Scooter Libby is based on him not telling the truth, or getting mixed up in the truth, or simply pissing Fitz off.”

I think we’re about to see a fork stuck into this turkey.
