Folks,

This is bull crap. All you have to do is read the byline, and find Mr. Michael Smith who brought you the C-BS guard memos among fabrications such as the Downing Memos.

Smith is the Jason Leopold of the UK, nothing to see here, move along.

UPDATE: Same BS alert (none really needed) with Seymour Hersh’s piece in the New Yorker. Just the same crap he was selling a two years ago. Just to show you how full of crap he is, read this from two years ago where he wrote in essence there was no reallignment in middle east planning. The premier muckracker can’t keep the story straight.

UPDATE II: It’s Sunday, but via the telelphone it didn’t take long to find out that among some “military leaders” at the Pentagon, this story is giving them quite the “Yuk”. Again, BS.

First, if anyone has ever been to the Pentagon you know that it’s chocked full of officers with briefcases who roam the halls yet have not the authority to turn a grape into a raisin.

I am with Capt Ed to a certain extent on the larger questions, although while Iran would present a larger theater I don’t believe they can match us on the field. As I’ve said before plans for taking down Iran have existed (this isn’t a secret) for more than 25 years. I know, I helped author them back in 1982 under Regan. I can’t tell you what they are (that is a secret), but planning is what the Pentagon does for any contingency including war with any potential adversary. All of which makes this “news” from the usual suspects laughable and silly.
