Absolutely we should keep on talking, but talk is cheap and meaningless without some sort of severe action. The "Bullies" comparison doesn't apply. A bully is a thug who preys on innocents in the school yard. The US isn't a bully, but the advocate who through the years has kicked the bullies out of the school yard. After dealing with Iran (as a rogue entity) for 26 years, it’s time for the big stick for the situation isn’t ever going to get better with simple diplomacy. In my 68 years I have found the I have been quite successful by following this path. You do not engender good relations by being the bully in the school yard. I think that Gov. Richardson has a good track record in this area and is indeed proposing a reasonable plan. History is replete with examples of failed bullies. It is time that the foreign policy of the United States move to a tough position but keep on talking. There many levers that we can use short of armed action. Think about it! It was 8 years of this thinking that got us into this position. Making nice certainly helped prevent 911. Their only success was a lucky break on the Canadian border.
