This time in Time Magazine:

“The Bush Administration has been quietly nurturing individuals and parties opposed to the Syrian government in an effort to undermine the regime of President Bashar Assad. Parts of the scheme are outlined in a classified, two-page document which says that the U.S. already is “supporting regular meetings of internal and diaspora Syrian activists” in Europe. The document bluntly expresses the hope that “these meetings will facilitate a more coherent strategy and plan of actions for all anti-Assad activists.”

Sounds harsh but may the asshat who wrote this leak and his source be found by such “Syrian Activists” and dealt with as they see fit. No doubt many of those activist will have to go into hiding as a result of Time and the State Department puke who leaked the document.

As Mike Rubin writes:

“How serious is President Bush about his freedom agenda, which the leak was meant to sabotage. Will Bush walk away, yet again demonstrating the gulf between rhetoric and policy, or will he order an investigation? Will there be accountability? Or will a disgruntled U.S. diplomat who believes him or herself above such inconveniences as oaths and the democratic process perhaps indirectly get away with murder, since the Syrian regime is sure to use the story to target its internal enemies.”

UPDATE: On the contrary, leaks are not an indication of the President’s weakness, but that we have some people in Government that need to be rounded up and shot at sunrise.
