Just like Rockefeller before him, our own Senator Bill Nelson (D-AQ) from Florida shows up in Syria to drink sweet mint tea with the Devil.

“WASHINGTON - In a direct affront to the Bush administration, a Democratic senator spent an hour Wednesday with Syrian President Bashar Assad in Damascus, emerging from the meeting to say Assad was willing to help control the
Iraq-Syrian border.

Sen. Bill Nelson (news, bio, voting record) of Florida, a member of the Armed Services and Foreign Relations committees, met with Assad after the State Department said that it disapproved of his trip. The United States has limited diplomatic ties with Syria because of its support of Hezbollah and Hamas, which the U.S. deems terrorist organizations, and President Bush has expressed reluctance to seek help from Damascus on Iraq until the Syrians curb that support and reduce their influence in Lebanon.

“Assad clearly indicated the willingness to cooperate with the Americans and or the Iraqi army to be part of a solution” in Iraq, Nelson told reporters in a conference call following the meeting. The U.S. says foreign fighters often enter Iraq across that boundary.”

The article goes on to list other (D-AQ) Senators to follow Nelson’s lead. Same old group of goats who have toyed with national security ever since they’ve been elected to office.

Apart from the obvious outright traitorism being show here, it also shows the general stupidity of Demcrats who actually think they can reason with pitbulls. Absolutely clueless. They’ve learned nothing from 9/11 indeed if they even remember it happened.

Nelson’s people though have really let him out to dry on this one because the local radio shows here in Miami are buzzing over this and callers are flooding the phones in a big negative way. Some asking for his immediate resignation.

I’m also emailing each of the Florida Jewish organizations listed here to get their take. I’ll bet they’re just jumping for joy over Bill sweet talking with Israel’s greatest enemy. Of the couple I called they are not real pleased.
