You know that all the talk about a “Blue Wave” have got to be on shakey ground when all you see is a continual story line of “depressed republicans skipping the vote”. Even the Washington Times is getting into the meme:
“The Republican Party can stave off defeat with a strong turnout on Nov. 7, party leaders are telling the faithful — but they are finding it tough to sell that message to some disillusioned conservative voters.
“The message hasn’t gotten across because a lot of people are sick and tired of thinking the only reason for going to the polls is to vote for the Republicans because they are lesser of two evils,” said Tom McClusky, vice president for government affairs at the Family Research Council (FRC), a leading social conservative group.
“Conservatives aren’t motivated to come out, is what I’m finding,” said conservative campaign consultant Rick Shaftan, who is based in Sparta, N.J. “They see no reason to re-elect the people who are in office.”
A top Republican pollster confidentially echoed those sentiments.
“There are very definitely trouble signs in many states of what we call the ‘LRs’ — the lethargic Republicans,” said the pollster, who agreed to speak on the condition of anonymity. “They are unhappy with the president and have little love lost for Congress.”
There’s little danger that such voters would switch to the Democrats, but “the real problem is that they won’t vote at all,” the pollster said.”
Pollsters….
Well, you can hold on the Xanax because the fact is that it’s simply not true.
First, screw polls. I live in a BLUE county in South Florida, yet we have a strong GOP movement down here – in the thousands – and NO ONE is talking about not voting. NO ONE. In fact, we are quite fired up about getting out to vote on November 7th.
The reason that you are seeing stories about depressed turnout is that they are designed to depress turnout. Amazing how that works isn’t it. And if see one more story on the nonsensical “evangelical polls” I’m grabbing my M16.
Means squat. Again, I don’t know who the pollsters are polling but it must be to those “sitting on the fence” independents, or (gasp) members of the United Methodists Church, or even Universalists! But it ain’t us ‘died in the wool’ evangelicals. We know what we are voting for, and we know who we cannot let run this country under any reason.
Again, they talk of depressed turnout, but on the ground we’re NOT seeing it.
The fact is as I have been saying, NO ONE knows what is going to happen on election day – NO ONE. Remember polls are done to create news, not to report facts, and the fact is that the GOP turnout will be hugh and THATS they fact they are trying to supress.

1This broken glass Republican was recently polled. Well, kinda.
I was told it was a political survey.
Q: Would you like to participate?
A: Yes.
Q: Are you a registered voter?
A: Yes.
Q: No more questions then.
With that she hung up.

2Speaking of staying home, I just saw an ad on Fox & Friends this morning made by AARP calling for people “NOT TO VOTE” No kidding! They even refer people to a website called:
dontvote.com
At the very end of the commercial they tell the viewer, don’t vote until you know how the candidates stand on the issues. Sounds harmless enough, right? When you check out the website…they claim that all positions listed on their site are presented by the candidates themselves, are unedited and presented for voter information without comment or editing by AARP. They also present “news stories” about candidates that are ALL slanted and totally worthless for a voter to make up their minds on “the issues”. THEN to top it all off they make a point of soliciting people and funds to advocate THEIR point of view!!! Isn’t the purpose of a voter info site supposed to be for voter info and not to push the positions of the site’s owner? They (AARP) list themselves as a 501 (c) (4) organization…contributions are not tax deductible yadda yadda.
What the hell? Rather than offer its “info” site as a public service, it advocates that people not vote for candidates that don’t support their position (meaning AARP’s position). Real nice! A pitch for funds while telling people not to vote?
I’m so glad I don’t belong to that organization anymore. They do NOT speak for me, nor would I ask them to. Look, I may be over-reacting, but I doubt it. I haven’t retired yet but probably will in the next 5 or so years. Who will take care of me? The government? Don’t bet the farm on it like AARP!!

3Why Do Polls Sound Like Dems?…
Mac Ranger has been questioning the polls and the news meme about disgruntled Reps sitting home (if they do, they better not come back expecting a voice at the table – we conservatives will not listen to people who sat and let the Dems take over and de…

5Oh those pollsters…they have a list of questions they initially ask.
Once they find you’re a republican…they’ll hang up.
If you tell them you’re undecided, this really really turns them on.
Once they ask you who you’ll be voting for, if it’s not the answer they’re looking for…it’ll never be recorded.
The polls are a scam…
Don’t waste your time OR give them the answer they’re looking for so we can help ‘em skew those polls.

7Scare Tactics or Truth?…
Pelosi’s World…. these are their issues. Where is national security? Where is reference to OUR safety? Where is anything on the war on terror, other than “cutting and running” with our tails between our legs….

8At least they learned their lesseon with the ‘referendum’ on Bush meme. That got them nowhere. I look forward to hearing some new excuse on why the polls were wrong this time. Then just wait for the conspiracy theorists explain the difference between polls and the actual results.
