“Former congressional page Jordan Edmund was interviewed by FBI agents for about two and-a-half hours today, his attorney told reporters.
“Jordan answered all of their questions, relying upon his memory as it exists,” attorney Stephen Jones said.
The FBI is investigating former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley, who resigned Sept. 29.
Edmund, 21, arrived at the U.S. Attorney’s office in downtown Oklahoma City about 10 a.m. He left around 12:40 p.m.
Edmund did not talk to reporters. His expression was somber. He wore a dark pinstriped suit and red tie. Edmund brought with him to the interview a large envelope.
Jones also told reporters he was contacted this morning by the House Ethics Committee. He said, ” I will speak to them this afternoon.”
Large envelope. I’ll see what I can find out today, but do doubt it’s full of copies of IMs and emails, but who knows. One thing, as it is generally known that Edmund’s has been previously identified as being involved in a prank involving IMs to Foley, and judging from the “somber look” on his face, it’s not likely that his meeting with the FBI was pleasant.
UPDATE I: Meanwhile noted muckracker and gossip, Ken Silverstein attempts to run interference for the Democrats by insisting that there was no orchetrated attempt by Democrats or their operatives to “leak this story” just prior to election day. He knows, he admits (if we can believe it) he held information on possible illegal activites as well.
“The Republican leadership is lying when they claim that Democrats have engineered an ‚ÄúOctober Surprise‚Äù; there was never a plan undermine the G.O.P. or to destroy Hastert personally, as the speaker has vaingloriously suggested. I know this with absolute certainty because Harper‚Äôs was offered the story almost five months ago and decided, after much debate, not to run it here on Washington Babylon.
Last May, a source put me in touch with a Democratic operative who provided me with the now-infamous emails that Foley had sent in 2004 to a sixteen-year-old page. He also provided several emails that the page sent to the office of Congressman Rodney Alexander, a Louisiana Republican who had sponsored him when he worked on Capitol Hill. “Maybe it is just me being paranoid, but seriously, This freaked me out,” the page wrote in one email. In the fall of 2005, my source had provided the same material to the St. Petersburg Times—and I presume to The Miami Herald—both which decided against publishing stories.
It was a Democrat who brought me the emails, but comments he made and common sense strongly suggest they were originally leaked by a Republican office. And while it’s entirely possible that Democratic officials became aware of the accusations against Foley, the source was not working in concert with the national Democratic Party. This person was genuinely disgusted by Foley’s behavior, amazed that other publications had declined to publish stories about the emails, and concerned that Foley might still be seeking contact with pages.”
More of the “We knew, but didn’t print it because……blah, blah.” What a load of crappola. Silverstein, you write crap gossip for a crap gossip rag, and IF you would have had anything at all you would have printed it! Even if you DID have a story then you are just as responsbile – if not criminally negligent – for NOT bringing the story forward for whatever lame ass reason your talking about now. Hell it’s been more than a week and now you’re throwing this out now. What? You had to run it past the legal department?
Continuing…
“Among those who received information about the story but declined to pursue it were liberal outlets such as Talkingpointsmemo.com, Americablog.com, and The New Republic (The Hill, Roll Call, and Time magazine also had the Foley story, though I’m not certain when it came to their attention.) [Update, October 10, 2006 2:00PM: Talking Points Memo did not have access to the emails‚Äîand it's possible that other publications named here did not either‚Äîbut all, at minimum, were aware of the salient facts of the case.]“
So all these left wing outfits knew about Foley but were sitting on it for what, “Journalistic responsibility”? Right.
Then this corker….
” If this was all a plot to hurt the G.O.P.‚Äôs chances in the midterm elections, why did the original source for the story begin approaching media outlets a full year ago? If either of the Florida papers had gone to press with the story last year, or if Harper’s had published this spring, as the source hoped, the Foley scandal would have died down long ago. A stronger case could be made that the media, including Harper‚Äôs, dropped the ball and inadvertently protected Foley and covered up evidence of the congressman‚Äôs misconduct.”
Well that IS the question isn’t. “Why?” You already told us it was a “democratic operative” that brought the email to you. It wasn’t the page, or even a republican operative, but a hack out of the DNC. A hack that was “shopping around the story”, but couldn’t get a bite, until that is they met you.
When that story couldn’t sell the “operative” pulled a plan “B” and held off until a more opportune time. Redstate has a good lead on the source(s) identity, and a connection to a “Senior Democrat, that I mentioned before.
Moreover, we also know more than a year ago the “Gay Thug” promised more revelations on Foley “as the midterms got closer”.
As Little Richard said, “Shut up!”….
I’ll have more on this later.
UPDATE II: Allah Pundit: “The smoking gun here isn‚Äôt the creepy e-mails, it‚Äôs the overtly sexual ‚Äútake off your pants‚Äù IMs. Who provided those to ABC, and more importantly, to CREW?”

The Gay Avenger’s latest outing sure amounted to a big fat nothing. For days Mike Rogers beat the drums, pumped out the press releases and even shilled on O’Reilly about his plan to “out” close ……

3I dont’ care if the entire house of congress is feeling each other up in chambers….I’m not voting for any BDS afflicted democrat. Period.
NOT because they “hate Bush”. But because I disagree with them so completely and totally on everything. Nothing that has happend has changed “that”.
