Passionate America who broke the story of , is now getting threats:
“I turned the comment off because someone is trying to bring one of my children into this. My son is a MINOR unlike Jordan Edmund. I have been on several radio shows this morning, including Glenn Beck. If you would like to help me you can please click the Make a Donation button on the right side bar. The hate mail has been pouring in and a lot of threats have been made. I can take the heat, but my family is very nervous. I will have more on this story soon. I have much more to say about this. I want to thank everyone for their support.”
Let me just say a few things. First, for those like Michelle Malkin and others who are calling WB’s story “hit pieces” and part of a conservative mob, let me again say, “Hold your water”. Edmund’s has hired the same attorney, a defense attorney, who defended the perp who until 9/11 had the record for the greatest terrorist attack on American soil, Timothy McVeigh.
A civil attorney yes. A media attorney, perhaps. A CRIMINAL attorney? That is, as a DOJ source told me, “Bizzare”. Secondly, People think that Wild Bill did this to “get the kid” back or some crazy thing, I’m sorry, don’t see it, and with the information I working with today, I can tell everyone hold the judgments and let it all come out.
Meanwhile Brian Ross is already doing interview flip flopping - more at the NRO Media Blog, and American Thinker is calling this story “The Worst October Surprise Ever”. And for your lunch time enjoyment, here is Barney Frank discusses the Foley incident.
BIG UPDATE I: Hassert just announced that he has asked Former FBI director Louis Freeh to look into the page system.
Well, well, perhaps a little poetic justice since Freeh was thrown to the wolves by Bill Clinton?
Oh my!
Mark Levin echos my thoughts:
“Louis Freeh will be named by Hastert to lead the page probe. Watch how quickly the libs dump on Freeh ‚Äî a critic of Bill Clinton.”
(Note: Mark was right, according to Drudge, Freeh won’t be the guy, Democrats objected - what a suprise!)
UPDATE II: Well, it seems the “Blog that started it all” has new posts up. From yesterday:
“Hello Folks. Maybe I’m not so happy that so many people are coming to this blog site.
“I’m not interested in media interviews. Thank you for your interest, but if you were doing your job to begin with, Mark Foley would have been exposed a long time ago. Instead of wanting to do a story about this blog, how about covering the fact that the media sat on this story for over a year. You’re as bad as the Congressional Leadership that covered for Foley.
In case you didn’t notice, all of the comments on the blog are gone? Wonder why? Because there are so many awful people out there. I started getting threats, so I decided that if somebody was going to threaten me, they were going to have to email me directly. So, they have continued to do so. There is no logical reason for someone to be so angry. I understand that the ramifications of these emails is far and wide. Much farther than I could ever have imagined. Regardless, think about how awareness has been raised.
AND…..here are the answers to some questions that have been posed. I am not Karl Rove, Mark Foley, or John Boehner. I am not employed in Democratic politics. I am not ‘funded’ by George Soros. I’m nobody that anybody should care about. So, please, go about your day as if I don’t exist. If you have something that needs to be posted on this site, please let me know.”
My, we are testy. For someone who claims to be non-political, that BOLD portion of the statement sounds a little like, like….
“Well the good news is that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is finally getting it. I called their Director of Communications, Bill Burton, before the Foley story broke to let him know about Foley (and another case) were coming down the pike. While Burton promised to have someone email or return my call and didn’t, I am glad he followed up on my call and was ready on Friday to come out of the gate running.”
More from Mr. Anonymous…
“There are a few points I want to address. I keep seeing things in the press and on the blogs (which I never read until all of this started going on).
First, I can’t believe that Speaker Dennis Hastert is blaming this blog on people like George Soros and Bill Clinton. That’s just an attempt at escaping responsibility. What does it matter who actually posted those first emails? Which leads me to my next point…..
How the heck can the FBI investigate this? Media reports say that they had the emails that I posted over a year ago. How are they investigating the House leadership for not handling it when they got the emails and they didn’t look into it either?
Although I totally blasted the media earlier for being lame for a whole year on this matter, I think they may be our best hope for the entire truth coming out in this matter. So, I hope they will ask questions about not only when Republican Leadership knew about it, what they did, how they were connected, what favors took place, etc; BUT, I hope they will also ask questions about who in the FBI let this go without investigating.
The TRUE HERO here is the page who reported the emails in the first place. Can you imagine how he has felt over the past year? For an ENTIRE year, NOTHING was done to show this kid that he was justified in reporting this sexual predator to the authorities. I’ve seen a lot of press and read a lot of blogs in the past week, but NOBODY has given this kid credit for the incredible courage that he showed not only a year ago, but for the entire past year while he MUST have questioned if he did the right thing. Well, he did. Kudos to him.”
Keep talking…….
UPDATE II: Speaking of things to come, WND on what Roger’s has planned in a second salvo. Again, from my law enforcement experience, “Let them trip on themselves until they can’t get up, then we’ve got ‘em!”.

1So I guess the lesson here is..you can accuse someone of something and because the press says it’s so the citizens of this country are just supposed to accept it as fact.
While I think Foley was involved in a sleazy endeavor it is the right of others to look closely at the accusations without the threats being made at other sites.
What is very telling is that the Right is handling this based on facts that are unearthed and the left is once again becoming shrill as this happens. Pathetic.

2Well now the Dems have a platform. Protect the children. Those children who get born, who are not Boy Scouts, I’m sure there are others who need to be protected other then those on capital hill. I listen to this whole thing and I wonder their thinking about the children of Iraq when we deploy to Japan. Or the affect of the world when North Korea lets off an underground Nuke. Or if Iran deploys a nuke to the Palestinians. I could go on and on. I can’t believe this has gotten so much press. And it will change an election—surely people are not that dumb.

3Michelle Malkin has an agenda.
She is not above reproach herself, imho.

4Malkin and the conservatives objecting to this are failing to understand that there’s a lot of stuff going on that we have not been told about.
For instance, about those IMs: IM programs have a “block feature” - if someone is initiating unwanted conversations, including those of a sexual nature, you block the user. Why didn’t the page who got those IMs ABC published do so?
One can only conclude he wanted to have those naughty chats with Congressman Foley. And now, we need to ask why the page would want them. The answers might be most enlightening.

5….and one other thing
We all know some men like younger woman, some gay men like guys their own age, some woman like younger men and on and on. It was wrong what Foley did, it needs to be looked into, is it the end of the world? And can anybody be protected 100%, probably not, that’s why Pages are not 3 years old when they go to Washington. If a guy is gay should he be better scrutinised——now wait a minute. And do the value voters as they are termed live in neverland, I have values, I vote and I know these things happen. Would I vote for a Dem because of Foley—–nnot a chance in the world.

6This is going to come back and haunt the donks. This will be their Plamegate. We now know Pelosi and Emmanuel have said they will not take a polygraph, will not sign an afidavit and will not testify under oath. Oh yeah. Makes it pretty easy to follow the popcorn trail.
This will be Freeh’s time to refurbish his image. He will leave no rock unturned. Make no maistake, Hastert would not do this, if he had something to hide. Now with offering a toll free telephone number also, tips will roll in fast. Time for the truth and payback at those that held thos IMs for years, thus leaving pages still exposed to Foley when they should not.
I will go on record here, this will be the unraveling of the donk party. They opened this can of worms and now they will be caught, exposed and prosecuted, like Scooter Libby.

10Again if this pans out at Drudge, what will the likes of Michelle Malkin say now? I gave up long ago on her site..way too opinion based for me.
Thanks to Mac and AJ for helping us stay sane the past few days and focus on the importance of truth again.

Psa 37:15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.

While we await the rest of the “truth”, I think we all agree that this is the blockbuster October surprise in reverse. What a disaster for the dems now and all their suporters who have posted trash the past few days on various sites. Let’s just hope Drudge is right on this one although I can’t imagine him going this far out on a limb with this particular story without some settled sources.

18Mark Foley’s sexual preferences are his own. I ain’t EVEN interested in that…however, like everyone else, I draw the line at him abusing his office in ANY way. HE’S GONE!!! GOOD RIDDANCE!!! He should get the help he needs and I hope his family and friends will support him.
However, to me, the very worst of this whole sorry episode is that persons known and unknown have been BLACKMAILING members of Congress and getting away with it! That is simply UNACCEPTABLE!!! It makes me sick! What’s going on here?
What’s coming is even more eye-opening to think of. When they begin the investigation of this, don’t you think that everyone in Congress will be not only subpoenaed, but so will offices, computers, e-mail accounts be searched…etc, etc, etc. Who knows what will happen when that starts or what they will find.
NOW we know why Nancy Pelosi is having a cow over Freeh’s involvement or indeed ANYONE other than themselves to “look into this”! Makes sense, no? I mean, if they threw a fit over William Jefferson’s office being searched, can you imagine what will happen now? We just can’t let them get away with it.
