While Time Magazine ask, “Who’s the Next Target in the Abramoff Probe?”, and then goes on to guess “A whole lot of Republicans!”, the fact is that there are also “A whole lot of Democrats!” in the probe sights as well.
The press has given sporadic coverage, mostly about six months ago, into Senator Harry Reid’s substantial involvement with Abramoff, which to summerize has to do with about $68,000 that he took in for various earmarks and favors and has absolutely refused so far to return the money (as just about everyone else, Democrat and Republican, has done).
Let me say that when it comes to corruption – whether Republican or Democrat – I say, “Cuff and Stuff” and throw away the key.
So how about it Harry? What about that $68,000? Don’t hold your breath, because Democrats are good at dishing it, but damn you if you expect them to take it.
However, while Harry is skating so far on the Abramoff scandal (at least in the MSM), he has even larger problems pending, as Matt Margolis, tells us:
“Apparently, you don’t just have to be a relative of Harry Reid to have the Senate Minority Leader use his influence on your behalf.
The Los Angeles Times recently reported that Coyote Springs Valley, a large area of barren desert in Nevada “is on its way to becoming a real estate development of historic proportions. with as many as 159,000 homes, 16 golf courses and a full complement of stores and service facilities. At nearly 43,000 acres, Coyote Springs covers almost twice as much space as the next-largest development in a state famous for outsized building projects.
According to the story, this huge project was the result of “an alliance between a multimillionaire developer and [Senate Minority Leader.] Harry Reid,” who sits on the Senate Appropriations Committee.”
Regardless of what you hear in the MSM, the DOJ is NOT agenda-oriented, nor partisan in it’s prosecutorial efforts. As far as the “Who’s next”, we may be about to see some Donks in the crosshairs. Specifically Rep. “Dollar Bill” Jefferson who’s problems stretch far beyond Niger, and will be coming out into the light in the weeks to come.
