Check this out Mac, I can't highlight what he did but just by reading this you'll see how Newsweek again Lied!

NEWSWEEK “Isikoffed” the Gonzales Memo

(snip)

Here are the details of how the Gonzales torture memo was “Isikoffed” by NEWSWEEK:

The quote is from a May 24, 2004 NEWSWEEK story by Isikoff, John Barry, and Michael Hirsh. Here is the quote, with the relevant portion in bold type:

By Jan. 25, 2002, according to a memo obtained by NEWSWEEK, it was clear that Bush had already decided that the Geneva Conventions did not apply at all, either to the Taliban or Al Qaeda. . . . “As you have said, the war against terrorism is a new kind of war,” Gonzales wrote to Bush. . . . Gonzales concluded in stark terms: “In my judgment, this new paradigm renders obsolete Geneva’s strict limitations on questioning of enemy prisoners and renders quaint some of its provisions.”

(snip)

Let’s go to the source — Gonzales’s original memo. The following is Gonzales’s entire quote, taken straight from Page 2 of his memo. I have bolded the part that NEWSWEEK removed:

In my judgment, this new paradigm renders obsolete Geneva’s strict limitations on questioning of enemy prisoners and renders quaint some of its provisions requiring that captured enemy be afforded such things as commissary privileges, script (i.e., advances of monthly pay), athletic uniforms, and scientific instruments.”

The MSM has called everything 'torture' from Abu Ghraib. Then they connect all torture in the world to Bush. So how did this happen?

They were spoon-fed this drivel by McCain and Graham at the Hearings. These 2 poor dears could barely get their drooping chins up to even look straight into the cameras that were whirling. They were tortured to even be hearing this.

They should have removed themselves if they were too weak to stand up for America. Instead they fed this anti-American bashing MSM each and every day.

You do realize this is their 3rd campaign on this one issue. They were so successful and so secure in their positions of power that they had to fear to go again. Everytime the President seems to get the Pugs back on target and on the upswing....here comes the power brokers. They are shameful. I heard McCain repeating his drivel of 'immoral'. Is he talking about the terrorists? HELL no.

As someone that has never uttered a bad word against Powell.....let me take this opportunity to say he just shoo-shooed in his nest. Look at the Day by Day cartoon today. Even with the semi-proof coming out on Plamegate, I still kept quiet. NO more. He insists on exhibiting himself as a verifiable back-stabber? So be it.

All of them need to retire and just shut up. They are the immoral ones. The word that comes to mind is Judas.
