The sound of a false legacy going into the crapper

8 September 2006 7 Comments

Here’s the letter via DNC talking point TPM:

“Dear Governor Kean:

We write to express our deep dismay with your ongoing association with the ABC miniseries “The Path to 9/11,” intended for broadcast September 10 & 11.

Your continued defense of this deeply flawed production is especially hard to understand in light of your commendable leadership of the 9/11 commission. Like much of the country, we were impressed by the care you and your fellow commissioners took to stick to the facts and to get it right for the American people — and for history.

Unfortunately, as co-executive producer of this miniseries, you and your new associates haven [sic] chosen to go another way.

While we do not object to a certain amount of dramatic license, we strongly object to wholesale fabrications. Actors portraying us do contemptible things we never did, and say things we neither said nor believed. And what’s more, in many instances these portrayals are contradicted by your Commission’s own findings. [See enclosure.]

Whether your broadcast purports to be based on the 9/11 Report in whole — or only in part — is increasingly beside the point. The dramatic impact of a costly bot carelessly produced film will invariably overwhelm the impression of any government document.

Amidst alarming reports that irresponsible theories about the events of 9/11 have begun to gain currency with the American people, you should not want to lend your personal reputation to a production which seems likely to instigatenew and dangerous falsehoods. And so we ask that you use your influence to persuade ABC to withdraw the broadcast altogether. Failing that, we urge you to sever your relationship with this grossly misleading production.

Sincerely,

Madeleine Albright
Samuel R. Berger

You can just sense that they know the charade is over, that Clinton legacy, or rather what is left of it, is about to go out the window.

“Grossly misleading” my ass. These two dolts live in a fairy tale land called “Clinton’s Make Believe Playhouse”. The only thing “gross” is watching these two crooks try to rewrite history.

Ms. Albright must not know that there were others there with her, and incidently with Berger too, who are scratching their heads right now wondering if they had a brain fart or something, or possibly selective amnesia about the the past. Plain and simple, Albright is full of crap.

Berger especially, because – aside from the movie – several on the ground agents familiar with the scene he objected to KNOW he continually threw wrenches into the hunt for Bin Laden, not once but several times.

Again, the fact is for all their attempts to hide the truth from the American people, ABC IS going to show the movie and moreover, the DVD version will on sale soon afterwards. The Democrats really “jumped the shark” for as an out of the “Beltway” Democrat friend here in South Florida told me today, “What in the hell are they trying to hide”.

See that’s the perception they’re buying with all this boycotting and letter writing – making people want to see the movie and find out what all the fuss is about. See my post throughout today – specific with the eye witnesses to the Clinton Administration incompetance for more of the truth. There is going to be more to come.

Isn’t that the truth. That’s everyone is thinking today.

My only fear is that they really do want people to watch this movie after they have sanitized there parts, of course..so they can point fingers at the Bush Administration….I never can trust these people to be doing what they “say” they are doing.

They are dispicable. And it just shows how much weight they put with the alphabet media as their mouthpieces…their level of concern over a docudrama is beyond jumping the shark…

And did you see the weasel, O’Reilly and Jerry last night? And Chris Wallace yesterday morning? Geez! They really don’t want to get their facts on this…just like the Swift Boats…whose pocket are they in, anyway?

    ivehadit,

I saw Geraldo on O’Reilley too…agreed…dispicable! But, Chris Wallace? What’s up there?

    BTW:

The burying of the USS Cole continues. The Captain of the USS Cole at the time of the attack was recently denied a promotion by the US Senate, even though he was selected for promotion by a US Navy promotion board.

All officer promotions must be approved by the US Senate. Senators sometimes play games with this, e.g., they will put anonymous “holds” on large blocks of promotions to force the Pentagon to approve the use of DoD funds for some senator’s pet project. Somtimes a senator will place an anonymous hold on a particular officer’s promotion to settle a score. For example any officer who was even peripherally involved in the “tailhook” scandal was blacklisted for promotions.

Those who served on the USS Cole at the time of the attack support their former commander almost to a man. The Clinton administration refuses to accept ANY responsibility for the 9-11 attacks, but the Senate has no difficulty destroying the career of a fine US Navy officer who happened to be on watch when his ship was attacked by terrorists. SHAME ON THEM!

    …..

You could make a documentary on this event by itself. I left two long comments about it over at AJ’s place so I won’t use up Mac’s bandwidth repeating it. Suffice it to say, the lack of even common decency about the brutal and UNPROVOKED murder of 17 Sailors aboard the USS Cole is inexcusable!! NO ONE…I REPEAT, NO ONE in the Clinton Administration would even bother to discuss a response to an act of WAR committed on our military and our country. Now our dispicable Congress is trying to bury the Cole’s skipper along with the memory of those who perished.

Listen, if they want to bitch and complain about a GD movie and whose portrayed as “hanging up” a telephone or not…be my guest! They all hung up on our brave military long ago. For that they deserve our eternal outrage!!

Sorry, I know I’m preaching to the choir here…forgive a 9-year Navy vet who is simply standing up for her shipmates.

    Carol

I think ivehadit is 100% correct. A group that will nominate to be president of the USA, a person who flew to Paris and met with the leaders of North Vietnam (as a private citizen)
concerning peace talks with America, can not be trusted to do the right thing for America.
When their leading Senator on the Senate Intelligence Committee says
“”"”"NOVEMBER 6, 2003 : (MEMOGATE : ROCKEFELLER INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE PLOT TO UNDERMINE THE PRESIDENT AND THE WAR EFFORT IS EXPOSED) It [the plan] centered on duping the panel’s Republican chairman, Sen. Pat Roberts of Kansas, into approving probes that in actuality would be fishing expeditions inside the State Department and Pentagon. The authors hoped to dig up and hype “improper or questionable conduct by administration officials.” According to a staff memo, the committee then would release the information during the course of the “investigation,” with Democrats providing their “additional views” that would, “among other things, castigate the majority [Republicans] for seeking to limit the scope of the inquiry.” In other words, they would manufacture and denounce a cover-up where none existed. The Democrats then would drag the issue through the 2004 presidential campaign by creating an independent commission to investigate, according to the memo. The plan, made public by Fox News on Nov. 6, went like this: “Prepare to launch an independent investigation when it becomes clear we have exhausted the opportunity to usefully collaborate with the majority. We can pull the trigger on an independent investigation at any time ‚Äì but we can only do so once. The best time to do so will probably be [in 2004].” – Democrat Senator Rockefeller’s office memo via Fox News”"”"”"
    OR
    http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1530678/posts

“I took a trip by myself in January of 2002 to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria, and I told each of the heads of state that it was my view that George Bush had already made up his mind to go to war against Iraq ‚Äî that that was a predetermined set course which had taken shape shortly after 9/11.”

So spoke Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) on “Fox Sunday” on November 14, 2005, who at the time of his trip was chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and is now its vice chairman.

Can Americans trust people who do these things.NEVER

Something stinks. They protest too much and I am suppose to believe that 9/11 Kean and ABC suddenly decided to put some honest facts on the table?

I will believe it when I see it.

Until then I will continue to hold the picture in my mind of Kean making the TV circuit with those darling Jersey girls while defending Gorelick. The 9/11 report that they threatened the President with, even to this day. They gave the Clinton bunch a free pass with the public while those hearings with the newbies were brutal. Brutal.

ABC? After watching it for 30 years, I pulled it out of the house until the spouse forced it back. So now they are going to let a grain of truth through the blockaide, from the goodness of their hearts? With Mitchell as a head honcho?

I think we are all keeping our mouths shut because we would trade 20 BushBashes for even 1(one) ClintonTruths coming through the MSM blockage. I think after they get every American to watch…they will have erased Clintonees until they are heroes.

Have my fingers crossed that you are right Mac and a grain of truth sifts through.
