While the MSM spins the half and no-truths about Katrina, the fact remains that they are hiding the real story of what happened, and more sinister and calculating who was truly responsible for the mayhem.
Hot Air revisits this in the “Buses of New Orleans”. No matter how the media and their accomplishes on the left try to rewrite the history of Katrina, the three stooge circus of Nagin, Blanco, and Landrieu, who are all still hiding behind their rock and hurling insults and blame, will always bear the blame for the majority of the death and suffering that occurred.
As a Florida native with more than our share of Hurricanes under our belts, we know that the responsibility for preparation first and foremost is on the individual and then with the local and state government. Never before in all my fifty years of experiencing hurricanes have I witnessed the incompetence I saw with the local and state government of Louisiana - never.
That’s a fact.

1And one point that doesn’t seem to be mentioned much is that Blanco and Nagin PITCHED the hurricane plans that were practiced and co=ordinated with FEMA and the feds…this in turn threw a total monkey wrench into the whole preparedness and rescue operation. It was a domino effect.
Having previously lived in New Orleans for 20 years, I can tell you that *everyone* knew that it takes 72 hours to evacuate New Orleans because of its being surrounded by water…which (duh) makes it particulary hard to handle AFTER a flooding of Lake Ponchartrain into the city. Bush had to *beg* Blanco and Nagin to issue a mandatory evac. Note: the President did not violate posse comitatus..can you imagine if he had? Impeachment from the left!
The real truth is that those who stayed simply were grandiose in their beliefs that they would not be hurt by the storm or the levies overflowing.
