Via the Sunday Sun - an Aussie paper, photos that show Hezbollah mixing with the populace, dressed in civilian clothes, using civilians as shields.

“The images, obtained exclusively by the Sunday Herald Sun, show Hezbollah using high-density residential areas as launch pads for rockets and heavy-calibre weapons.

Dressed in civilian clothing so they can quickly disappear, the militants carrying automatic assault rifles and ride in on trucks mounted with cannon.

The photographs, from the Christian area of Wadi Chahrour in the east of Beirut, were taken by a visiting journalist and smuggled out by a friend”

Further, playing the “decoy”:

“The images include one of a group of men and youths preparing to fire an anti-aircraft gun metres from an apartment block with sheets hanging out on a balcony to dry.

Others show a militant with AK47 rifle guarding no-go zones after Israeli blitzes.

Another depicts the remnants of a Hezbollah Katyusha rocket in the middle of a residential block blown up in an Israeli air attack.”

Bush and Blair are working towards a cease fire bowing to world pressure, but that is a deadly mistake. You can’t bring these thugs to a negotiation table any more than Elliot Ness could have negotiated with Al Capone.

Yet with them blending in with the populace there are the inherent problems as civilians are going to become in greater numbers collateral damage, and so making it difficult to pinpoint Hezbollah locations and strike them. But these photos show that the civilian death toll in Lebanon wasn’t the result of indescriminant bombing on the part of Israel, but due primarily to Hezbollah designing that result for their own purposes.

“That is reporting that the Israeli IDF is reporting that they have video proof that Hezbollah did in fact in place artillery and ricket luanchers in the area and therefore did entice Israel to attack the area.”

The MSM is pushing back of course, but this is typical. This is just another example of the fact that the age of “conventional warfare” where nation fought nation, doesn’t apply in this new Global War on Terror. Israel isn’t fighting a nation, but a gang of thugs with rockets and a desire to see every last Israeli dead. Israel is in it’s right to attack any position that a plume proceeds from. They have a right to protect themselves and are exercising that right. Hezbollah doesn’t follow the rules, and Israel is fighting for survival. Thus not one ounce of backdown until every last Hezbollah dog is neutered and destroyed.

Lebanon can’t say they have no dog in the fight either. Indeed it was they who allowed Hezbollah to infest their country and therefore they have a cupable responsibility to what is taking place now. NO one likes civilian casulties, but Israel has warned those in suspected hideouts to flee, and I would suggest they take heed to that warning.

Update III: Via tip, could it be an assumption that the building in Qana feel EIGHT hours after being hit by a Israeli rocket?

“An IDF investigation has found that the building in Qana struck by the Air Force fell around eight hours after being hit by the IDF.”The attack on the structure in the Qana village took place between midnight and one in the morning. The gap between the timing of the collapse of the building and the time of the strike on it is unclear,” Brigadier General Amir Eshel, Head of the Air Force Headquarters told journalists at the Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv, following the incidents at Qana.

Eshel and the head of the IDF’s Operational Branch, Major General Gadi Eisnkot said the structure was not being attacked when it collapsed, at around 8:00 in the morning. The IDF believes that Hizbullah explosives in the building were behind the explosion that caused the collapse.Another possibility is that the rickety building remained standing for a few hours, but eventually collapsed. “It could be that inside the building, things that could eventually cause an explosion were being housed, things that we could not blow up in the attack, and maybe remained there, Brigadier General Eshel said.”

If true this enforces even more the fact that Israel must root out all reminants of Hezbollah and not stop until the job is done.
